I
am writing in support of Phillip Chalker.
Phillip has been involved in Wild@heARTs Club Wild disability
community arts activities for the past 5 years. During that time,
Phill has participated in workshops, performed at Club Wild events,
run karaoke sessions and participated in event design and preparation.
Phill
is currently involved in establishing Club Wild in his local area
of Gippsland, in the Baw Baw and Latrobe local government areas.
Phill has a strong entrepreneurial ability to generate business
and community ideas. He has a good feel for his "community"
and their interests and he has a strong capacity for networking
and promoting these ideas. He has taken great initiative in contacting
organizations that share common goals with Club Wild and promoting
our work and crosspromotion of our activities. He has done this
through music, videos, radio, print media, TV, phone, email and
online.
Phill has handled money and done banking for club wild. Phill is
also a talented performer. He has sung and played guitar, and MC-ed,
at Club Wilds dance party events, included as a member of
the Club Wild Allstars band and has performed at other disability
organisations and events through out Victoria. With Club Wilds
support, Phill has run Karaoke sessions as part of our major dance
party events.
Phill demonstrates great energy for his performances and a strong
commitment to developing a professional standard of stagecraft.
Phill has recently taken the initiative to record his own CD of
covers and originals songs which he is actively promoting in his
day to day work and through his Chalkers Performances website. He
also plays as part of acoustic duo the Latrobe Boys.
Phill is very keen to succeed in the music industry including studies
at TAFE. I am sure he will achieve this with his own initiative
and the right support and training.
I recommend Phill for his enthusiasm, innovative ideas and his initiative.
Given a supportive and structured work environment Phills
skills and energy will be a great asset.
Yours truly

"Phillip
Chalker performed an impromptu "birthday gig" whilst he
was out busking on Friday 31st July, 2009, in Warragul, consisting
of "Happy Birthday" and then some of his work. It was
original and very entertaining. Very much enjoyed the original song
"Lost in the Desert of Australia".
Thank
you Phillip Chalker (and Kransky) for an unexpected and awesome
start to my birthday this year, much appreciated!"

Phil Chalker was a great act for our Pink Day Fundraiser for Breast
Cancer. Given that we are a centre for adults with disabilities,
it was hugely special to have such a wonderful entertainer come
and entertain our clients, friends and staff.

Hello Phillip,
Just
sending you some feedback on the performance you did on 16th October
at Haven Primary School, Horsham. The children all really loved
the performance. It was great to see them getting up and joining
in with the karaoke and dance. Your final song was very touching
and there were quite a few of the older children who were obviously
moved by your performance. The children like hearing about your
life and how Kransky helps you to get around.
A
very lively performance, thankyou.
From
the staff at Haven Primary school.
